The short version
- Your jobs, customers, hours, photos, materials and voice notes stay on your device.
- No account, no cloud, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no cookies.
- The only data that leaves your device is an anonymous subscription check to validate your purchase.
- Delete the app (or its data) and everything is gone — there is no server copy.
1. Who we are
TaskSnap (app / package ID: com.theonehand.tasksnap) is an offline job-tracking app for tradespeople and self-employed craftsmen.
It is developed and published by Bilal Marzouk, operating as The One Hand ("we", "us"), based in Vienna, Austria (EU). The app is listed on Google Play and the Apple App Store under the developer name "theonehand". We build tools that respect your privacy by design — your data stays on your device, not on our servers, because we don't run any.
2. What TaskSnap stores — and where
TaskSnap stores all of your business data locally on your device in a private app database and local file storage. This includes:
- Jobs & hours — job details, tracked time, and job status.
- Customers — names, addresses, contact details and full job history.
- Photos — job photos taken with your camera or picked from your gallery.
- Materials & costs — quantities, prices and cost summaries.
- Voice notes — audio notes you record on a job.
- PDF reports — the digitally signed customer reports you generate.
None of this data is transmitted to The One Hand or any third party. TaskSnap does not operate any cloud backend, server infrastructure, or data-processing facility.
3. Data that never leaves your device
By design, the following data stays on your device at all times and is never uploaded, synced, or shared:
- Your customer list and contact details.
- Your job history, hours, and earnings.
- Every photo and voice note you attach to a job.
- Your generated PDF reports.
- Your app settings and preferences.
4. App permissions — and why they exist
TaskSnap requests only the permissions it needs to do its job. Each one is used locally, on your device, and never to collect or transmit data:
- Camera & Photos / Media / Files — to take job photos and attach existing images to a job, and to export PDF reports to your device.
- Microphone — only if you choose to record a voice note on a job. The recording is stored locally and played back from your device.
- Contacts — only if you choose to import a customer's details from your address book. The imported details are stored locally in TaskSnap; nothing is read or uploaded in the background.
- Notifications — for local reminders (for example, recurring jobs). Reminders are generated on your device, not by a server.
- Storage — to save exported PDF reports to your device (legacy Android versions).
5. Subscriptions & payments
TaskSnap offers an optional subscription — TaskSnap Pro, 1 month, €6.99/month, auto-renewing until cancelled (see the Terms of Use). Purchases are processed by Apple (StoreKit / App Store) on iOS and iPadOS, or Google Play Billing on Android, and validated through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-management service. This is the only external service the app communicates with.
RevenueCat receives only what is necessary to verify your entitlement: an anonymous app-user identifier and your subscription status. It does not receive your jobs, customers, photos, voice notes, materials, or any other business data. TaskSnap sends no invoice data, no customer information, and no personal data to RevenueCat, Apple, or Google Play beyond what the store requires to process the payment itself.
RevenueCat and Google Play have their own privacy policies governing how they handle payment data:
6. No analytics, no ads, no trackers, no cookies
TaskSnap contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash trackers, and no hidden telemetry. The app does not use cookies. We don't track how you use the app, and we don't build any profile of you. The same applies to this website — it sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
7. Data retention & deletion
Because all data lives on your device, you are always in full control:
- You can view, edit, and delete any job, customer, photo, or voice note at any time from within the app.
- Deleting the app (or clearing its data through your device settings) permanently removes all TaskSnap data from the device.
- We keep no server copy of your data, so there is nothing left on our side after deletion.
8. Your rights under the GDPR
TaskSnap is GDPR-compliant by architecture, not just by policy. Since we process and transmit no personal data (there is no account and no cloud), the GDPR data-subject rights — access, rectification, erasure, and portability — are exercised directly by you through the app's built-in features. Your data is on your device, so you already hold it.
For any question about your rights or our data practices, you may also contact us (see Section 10), or the Austrian data protection authority (Datenschutzbehörde).
9. Children's privacy
TaskSnap is a business tool intended for tradespeople and self-employed professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.
10. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how TaskSnap handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app is offline-first, any change would be reflected here before it affects the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
